I was adding to my existing unit of Mexican hussars from the Mexican War but this time I was using BMC horses. The cavalry are the Action Pack Napoleonic hussars. The swords are too thick but I love these figures. The flag bearer is converted and needs cuff detail added.
Here are the modified BMC horses. I really like these as they have blanket rolls and figures sit well on them. However, the reins are only on the right side of the neck.
Below you see how I corrected this by drilling a hole and inserting dental floss. The floss can be drawn right trough and used on both sides although there is already a rein molded on to the right side. One of the horses I also gave double reins.
I have also used black dental floss but did not have any handy so had to paint it.
These Technolog orcs look good except for the ridiculous axe shafts. I cut off the short shafts , drilled out the hands and added parts of lollypop sticks. I also added shields, one from an old button and one a tiddlywink.
