Slaughter In Ozzz

Gillikins

Today Mat and I fought a battle from Ozzz. Mat chose the evil side commanded by withes Evora and Arella. My Good side was commanded by Zoraster (The Wizard) and Gwenda the Good Witch.

The Evil forces outnumbered the good, but a disaster would befall them. On move two Evora betrayed her Moon sister! She withdrew with her army (about half the evil forces). This was going to make things difficult for Mat - or would they? A second chance to change Evora's mind failed. It seems she wanted her Moon sister to be defeated so that Evora alone would rule the evil part of Ozzz. The forces Evora commanded included Winkie Guard with halberds, two cannons, a rifle regiment and two skeleton warrior units.

That left Arella with three units of Gillikins, armed with swords shields and pistols and a unit with muskets. She also had a unit of wolves and Gillikin cavalry.

Mat charged his wolves at Zoraster's Tin Men. The Cerberus ripped off some of their heads. Then the Tinkerer was killed and the Ti Men aimlessly left combat and repeatedly bumped into some rocks.
The Gillikin cavalry charged the Munchkin cuirassiers in a fight to the last man. The Gillikins prevailed with two survivors, but these were shot down by Zoraster's Guard unit.

Zoraster's Guard, much reduced by Gillikin shooting
                                                                     Munchkin civilians

                                                                          Evora's forces

                                                                     Gillikin Cavalry
                                                                   Zoraster's Guard
                                                               Tin Men and Tinkerer
                                                                Munchkin artillery
                                                       Scarecrow unit with attack crows

A unit of Beastmen arrives, late in the battle, to support the Gillikins

Light Infantry

Despite losing half his forces the remaining force caused plenty of damage. A large Gillikin unit poured volleys into the Munchkin Guard. Arella sent fire-bolt after Fire-bolt into the Forces of Good. She even wiped out the Munchkin artillery battery; prior to this the cannons had caused great damage to the Gillikins.

Then the scarecrows sent their attack crows in.
On the other hand, Quadling forces no longer faced Evora's forces and they raced to the other end of the battlefield to add their support.

Then the much-diminished Scarecrow unit sent their attack crows into Arella's direction. Soon she was waving her arms and screaming but the birds pecked out her eyes and bled her from many wounds.

With her death her army withdrew but then halted again and continued fighting. The arrival of a unit of Beastmen might have been the fortifying factor. These burly warriors ploughed into the Munchkin light cavalry who were busy destroying a Gillikin unit. The small horsemen fell to the mighty blades of the hairy newcomers.

POINTS
Initially victory conditions were based on table quarters and units destroyed. With the loss of half the evil army, through Evora's treachery, I decreed that nothing, but the extinction of the remaining evil forces would bring the Forces of Good victory. This was perhaps, over- as there was still a big sting in the Evil side's defence. The random arrival of Beastmen also changed things.

The Good side had lost two cannons, and two cavalry units. The Evil side (apart from the desertion of half the army) lost a cavalry unit and an infantry one, along with their commander. The other units were much depleted but survived the end of move 12. We dice rolled for it and the game did not continue.
