Diesel Punk Fictitious Tank, Crewman

I recall seeing, years ago, a tankette made by Paul Wright which included a crewman with German helmet and gas mask. There is something about WW1 style gas masks that recall not only WW1 but SF.

The plastic parts for the crewman came from Airfix Multi-pose Africa Corps. The helmet is a metal one from (I think) London Bridge figures, possibly a copy froman old Britains one. Someone might remind me. I gave the figure binoculars and pistol. I might make him removable so I can, alternatively, place a Space Ork in his place. I might, later, also add a machine gun on the turret.

The figure has a neckerchief from putty. I am thinking of him having a black uniform, red neckerchief and a camo helmet. Below is my box of the Multi-pose bits. I never really made more than a couple of Germans and used other parts for various conversions, but I might, soon, assemble a few Africa Corps figures to go with my soft plastic ones. I also have Americans, Brits and Japanese from the same series.

As can be seen the turret was a lid from a paintbrush container.

Basically, I intend the tank to represent a sort of interwar, chunky tank but without corresponding to a historical tank.

I like the idea of designing fictitious tanks and I might be a little influenced by the YouTube site, Bill Making Stuff and his 'Tonks'. However, unlike Bill, I have not made my tank from scratch but by adapting an existing one. My time playing with Space Orks and making their vehicles from all kinds of cheap toys is another influence.
