North Kensington Pseudo-Renaissance Conversions for My Napoleon of Nottinghill Games.

The figures below were last minute conversions before today's wargame. The exception were the figures in the front rank that I did a couple of weeks ago.

The figure at far right and the one holding his hat are not converted.

As they were used in street fighting grey bases would have been more appropriate. However, I wanted a partially old-fashioned toy look. The newer paintjobs have not yet been varnished. All these figures I can also use in my fantasy campaigns.

As a further note on the book, I perused the various published covers and most of them have little to do with the story. For example, the word 'Napoleon' refers to the military skills of Scott Wayne but not to the apparel of the participants. Many of the book covers, annoyingly, have images of Napoleon in his bicorne. Others show gentlemen in top hats. What would be most appropriate, and entertaining, would be a combination or Edwardian and Renaissance or medieval apparel.

One entertaining detail about the novel is that Wayne's general is the toy shop owner, who plays wargames with traditional tin soldiers and who also has, in his shop, a model layout of Nottinghill. This enables the planning for the defence of Nottinghill.
