A Dinosaur Mounted Ork Painted & Thank Gourd For a Sacred Gourd
Today I finished painting this ork conversion from a Hulk figure. I am happy as to how he turned out. That makes five of these fellows, I have, mounted on small dinosaurs.
The other object? Well it is a gourd, I think. My neighbour (one of the mainly nice ones) a while back gave me some of her garden grown vegetables. They were kind of pretty and, due to hard exteriors, didn't look that edible. they were but I just forgot about them. Then I found this fellow lurking behind a fruit bowl, with its contents rotted away and some white mold festooning its skin! Yet it was still strangely fascinating. The bright colors had gone but the light goldy-yellow and black looked good.I stuck it in the n=microwave to kill any spores etc. Then I washed it and cut off the base of it. I gave inside and outside a coating of PVA glue. Then I glued it to a card coaster and added two stones, PVA and sawdust and sand. I painted the base, dry brushed it, then added assorted green flock onto patches of PVA. I also glued some pieces of blonde human hair for dry grass. The gourd and stone I'll not paint. What try to surpass this the majesty of nature?
It looks like it could be a fertility stone, such is its somewhat phallic look. Some assorted primitives, fairies, elves or whatever might perform ceremonies and sacrifices there. Who knows?
