How Do You Stop a Rhino From charging? Take Away its Credit Cards: Christmas Cracker Toys.
Christmas crackers are often expensive, considering they are just paper and junk. However, I have found I can sometimes get them very cheaply in op shops. I don't buy them unless the have plastic toys in them! The boxes generally show on the back what is in them.
Then there is the pleasant smell of gunpowder, the sound of the pop and the corny jokes to read at the Xmas dinner table.
This year my daughter cooked some turkey legs and did a great job. Then I insisted she partake of crackers and listening to the jokes. I thought the Rhino joke one quite good.
Anyhow, here are the plastic toys, nothing too exciting, really. The two creatures, at top left, I might paint up, for the fun of it. I like to have the odd little bizarre animal on my wargame table. I'll cut the rings off the ends and paint them. They look like they could be lurking in a pile of rocks or by a creek.
I'm not so sure about the flying lizard. None of my toy soldiers will fit in that car. The yellow guy could be beheaded and his head put on a shield, or a banner, as could the lying lizard. Probably just idle contemplation but who knows what I will do; even I don't?
