Wooden Armoured Car, Hulk To Orc & Camel & Other Mounts

I found the wooden car in a second hand shop & thought it would make a good robust armoured vehicle for wargames. I added a spray can lid, made a hole in it and added the barrel from a plastic toy cannon. The figure is a copy of a Cofalu sailor. So, I am looking for ideas for additions - doors, hatches etc. Should I paint it as if it was historical, perhaps grey or camouflage or in some fantasy bright colors? I'll probably fill in the gap between the two pieces of wood.

I already have a unit of orcs on dinosaurs. Here is another one to add to the unit. I like the cheapo dinosaurs with open mouths. The rider body is a hulk figure. I cut the legs so they could spread enough to fit on the mount. The head is a metal one from Eureka Miniatures. I'll be adding reins, shield and spear or some other weapon. The saddle blanket is cut from three or four pieces of serviette soaked in Modge Podge. I might add armour to the rider.

I never used a lion as a mount before but as I have become more absorbed in fantasy gaming why not? I envisage a female rider.
I obtained, second hand, six camels with heads drawn back. I gave them saddle blankets also. The human is a Reamsa 60mm Moor/Saracen. The camels and lion are hollow hard plastic. I used some Suer Glue and baking soda to strengthen the joins and fill some gaps.

I imagined these camels as being held by a handler and resisting. They could go with Arab warriors, civilian Arabs, British camel corps, etc., etc. I'll add bridles, ropes and so on.

  1. The naval officer is from Cofalu (from France too) not a Starlux.
