Troll, 1/72 Converted Into 1/32 Ogre

A while back I bought a Ukrainian made boxed set of '1/72 War Tolls for catapult', set 4 from Dark Alliance, 033. These figures are 50mm tall (although hunched over). They have very long armored arms and elephant-like feet and legs. That made them roughly human height with non-human physical traits.

My first thought was to make use of them as orcs, but orcs have more human-like hands and feet. Anyhow, I got busy removing arms and hands and making the new bunched fists from the vicinity of the wrists. The arms were repositioned to hold DSG shield with wire and putty pointed hub. Arms were held in place with wire in drilled holes and glued with Suer Glue and baking soda. The legs were also cut off and replaced with wire and Green Stuff shaped into legs and feet. Despite his armor I made him bare footed. His skin scales I'll paint as scale armor.

Speaking of armor, I added some craft bits to make impromptu leg and groin protection. Using Green Stuff, I made a helmet and a lolling tongue to suggest a little stupidity!

That is a face only his mother could love, and maybe not even her.

I added a random square of armor to the rear waist. The helmet also has a Train Your Dragon head as part of his helmet.
He is over 70mm high now, probably a good size for a 1/32 ogre.
These are the craft doodads my crafty cousin, Kerrie, gave me. Some of them look a little like Roman groin protectors. The plates would also look good on robots. These ones will be painted but in some future conversions I might leave them unpainted.
This dark figure is a plastic chess piece with fake metal corrosion. At some stage I'll base and paint him as another ogre.

I didn't have an ogre unit but I want some to go with my giants. (Incidentally, I have begun converting another large Hulk figure into a giant). There might even be some islands, giant and ogre infested, sought by Beerstein, Fezia and Bogavania. So these are the nucleus for a new unit. The other troll will also be made taller and a bit more humanoid as another ogre.

So what color to I paint their skin. I did a little research and my conclusion is anything I like! I am leaning towards a sickly pink from a crimson wash on white undercoat.

P.S.  I did some more reading and ogres were about 8-9 feet tall so my figures will be a tad undersized. They should be 80 to 90mm high.
