Dread Island, an upcoming campaign

The Beersteiner and joint Bogavanian and Fezian fleets have departed South to explore and conquer the semi-tropical and tropical islands to the South.

Both the Beersteiners and my rivals suffered from being becalmed but the North/West wind picked up from Beerstein way and carried my ships to a medium sized island. A smaller expedition had not yet reached a smaller island.

Below: not the vampires to be used in this game as they are a smaller scale for these are Warhammer:

We rolled the dice for the inhabitants and they are the Undead! Waiting on the beach were six units of slavering zombies, a unit of Skeleton warriors with spears and shields, a wright and a vampire. The powers of the last two are yet to be decided. The units comprise 24 'men' each. I knew there was a reason I brought priests, although i was thinking more of converting natives to the True Faith. The numbers of units was decided for D6 roll per 6 hexes on the island, the numbers being nine, including the characters. The Undead got to roll to see if they got a wizard but they did not. Then we rolled for the composition.

The Beersteiner force consists of 7 ships with supplies, wagons and the following units: 4 units of flintlock armed infantry one of which is elite. All have flags and musicians and the usual 24 men per unit or 'regiment'. In addition is a unit of heavy cavalry and 4 cannons with limbers.

The commander is Generals Aaron Opel and Zachary Bernstof. Also present High Priest, Roger and Priest, Julius, the Hero, Falk Sirum and Axel the Wizard. Priests and wizards don't usually mix well but king James has decreed that priest not liking it will be defrocked and thrown in a deep dank dungeon. The same went for wizards but they tended to be a trifle more relaxed about mixing with the clergy. (The occasional sneer does not count).

The ships are equipped with four ship cannons per side of the ships.

Now, how does the army land or will it stand off and take pot shots with the ships' guns, or depart and look for another 'port'?

Now, can zombies swim? Or, along with skeletons, could they walk the seabed and then could they climb the hulls?

  TERRAIN
Again we rolled the dice for a list and came up with: 2 Rocky areas, three swamps, a hill, graveyard and 2 mausoleums, river, lake and a  jungle. That is for just one hex. There is also a beach, which we assumed beforehand.

Meanwhile Mat has not yet reached land AND we are up to map move 4 already; that means that half way through next week's battle we have to roll for chance events which can even include incursions into our lands by third parties. Some events can also effect an ongoing battle. (I could do with 'apearance of angels').
