The Battle For Dread Island Illustration
Due to popular demand I have completed another artistic rendition of a wargame, in this case the recent campaign wargame for Dread Island. Two battles have so far been fought, with it being touch and go for my Beersteiner forces until they finally got the upper hand.
The vampire has fled into the jungle and has a few zombies with him. It looks like the troops will have to go in to the jungle to get him. Only then can Beerstein claim the island.
Among other developments a fleet of seven Bogavanian and Fezian ships which appeared at Skull Island found it had been beaten by a small Beersteiner expedition. Negotiations have left the island in Beersteiner possession - at least that is the aim - they have not yet met Kong.
Simultaneously, a Fezian expedition is preparing to invade the island Stellar Republic. The Stellans are in three military groups, however they might attempt to concentrate their forces. The Beersteiners have a mix of medieval and 18th century- type weapons. The Stellans are armed with matchlocks and heavy cavalry.
If that was not enough, Silver Horde raiders, have crossed the Northern border and have kidnapped one of the Fezian sultan's daughters. In retaliation he is preparing to invade Silver Horde border land in an attempt to force the return of Roxanne.
The order of the next battles, occurring in map move nine, will be the third battle of Beersteiners against the remaining Undead, the Fezian invasion of the Stellar Republic and move ten, the secret, unknown movement of the joint Fezian/Bogavanian fleet, perhaps in search of another island to conquer, or will it join the invasion of the Stellar Republic? Move ten will include the Fezian attempted annexation of Silver Horde land. The Silver Horde consists mainly of horse archers, with some subject peoples providing foot troops. They also have allied centaur units and catapults with the option of flammable ammunition.
Troop lists and casualty lists for the last two battles will be included in the next post.
