The Fezian Invasion of the Stellar Republic
The Fezian force has landed on Stellar Island at the sheltered Eastern Bay of Bards. They rapidly moved towards the capital. Stellar forces converged on the capital to resist. Two Stellar cannons were already in position. Infantry arrived from the South and the cavalry came on from reserve from the West.
A curious aspect of the Stellar forces was the presence, firstly of Patran cavalry. These were part of an exploratory expedition sent, years ago, by Cleopatra of Patra. Although the Green Fog had parted to allow them to find the island the fog had closed up leaving them stranded but they were prepared to give their services to Stellar. The other curious element consisted of individual Amerindians or their descendants who had been incorporated into the army. Although their attire mostly copied the prevalent one of the 17th century Dutch islanders some retained elements from their native land, including animal shaped helmets, warpaint and various feathers.

BATTLE
A huge set-back for the republic occurred when rain set in. This caused half of the Stellar matchlock men to fail their musket detonations. The two cannons also repeatedly failed to fire. Then one had its crew shot down and the other misfired and exploded.
With the limited fire power response Fezian forces were able to advance with minimum casualties.
However, the Fezian wizard repeatedly failed in his spell casting as the background counter magic foiled him. He did manage, with a spell, to push back a cannon and crew causing some casualties among the crew and a unit it got pushed into.
The rain also, eventually created a quagmire which halved movement cand lessened the effectiveness of the Patran cavalry. This cavalry managed to attack the lights and to strike down many of them but they also suffered casualties.
At one point the Stellar hero charged the Fezian general and 'killed' him but the hero was also struck down by Fezian soldiers. Actually both were unconscious and captured by their respective enemies.
The Stellar infantry, even the militia, stood their ground and even pushed back the plate armored enemy. The light Fezian on the Fezian left were pushed back and run down. The Stellar commander insisted on humane treatment of prisoners so some survived under guard.
The striking down of General Kariff led to the wholesale retreat of his army before the wizard took over command.

Some individuals are descended from Aztec refugees who fled an Aztec civil war. Some of these have kept cultural artefacts such as the animal head wooden helmets.
The Fezian general (with round shield) leads the attack of the plate. he was struck down by the Stellar hero.
