Drakos' Last Stand Painting
After some prompting I am making more of a habit of doing some art work based on my wargames. Eventually I'd like to put it into a zine and even a book.
The scene is the veery end of the battle for Dread Island when to units of Beersteiners converged on Drakos who was in a piece of jungle with the last of the zombies. All the zombies are gone and Drakos faces the enemy.
The grenadiers are based on BMC Yorktown set. The line infantry are Airfix Napoleonic British officer with changed shako and French with added pipe cleaner plumes.

I like the way you hand draw these scenes. I'm not that skillful at drawing nor do I have the time, so I cheats and sometimes creates AI images from my games to get an 'artistic representation'.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roger. I am currently combining my two main hobbies of toy soldiers and sketching. I keep hard cover sketch books of my travels and experiences and have branched out to include drawings from my wargames. When I finish the current sketch book I am going to have an extra book just for toy soldier related art.
