Painting an assortment of individual figures I find a lot more fun than painting a large unit of similar figures.
Below is a Temu 3D printed resin Medusa, the American Indian and the Viking with added chainmail shoulders and clasp. I bulked the shoulders up a little by mixing some artist's thickening paste to the silver.
The Indian skin tone came out darker than I would have liked but maybe he has a run away slave as a relative. As I was working on this figure I noticed some flash on the leg which i attempted to cut off but the pressure caused the legs to snap! I'd already painted most of the figure so I Super Glued them back. I also added some green Stuff grass to strengthen the join. I just need to add a fire and some smoke.
I really like this Medusa figure as I like my female monsters to be a little pretty; she has a nice face and animated pose. I thought some nice sharp fangs might have set her off but no teeth are apparent; I tried, not very successfully, to paint some in her mouth - I should have used a couple of dabs of artist paint thickener. One of her head snake heads snapped off but she had more than enough to spare. One thing I deliberately cut off was a branch which seemed to be growing out of her body! Some of the branch is still there underneath her but not really very visible so I forgot to paint it. I added a few random green scales over the more human part of her body.
Here is another wagon driver made from a HK swoppet cowboy bottom and the top part of a cereal version of a Marx Robin Hood man. I may put a whip or rein in his hand.
All this I painted whilst watching some DVDs of Hartnell Doctor Who episodes. One was The Ark in Space and the other was Galaxy 10. The last one is partially animated as the BBC destroyed a number of episodes to make space. Then I watched the old crime movie, Kiss of Death. There are some other paint jobs I also worked on which I'll show in a future post.
