Warhammer 40K Ork Conversion NOT Games Workshop!
I haven't played 40 K for years but I still have a soft spot for Space Orks (although the 'space' part of their name is probably not used so much now). I started playing 40K in the 1990s. My students showed me their armies and got me into it. Most of my first orks were from cheap secondhand sets of Space Crusade and Hero Quest. I converted them with Tamiya German helmets and other stuff. My vehicles were made from cheap toy tanks and some figures were even made from McDonalds and Skylander toys. I also had a number of Inquisition metal orks that were from A company in Adelaide.
Below is one ork I did not get around to finishing but he will be in the not too distant future. The basis was a cheap toy robot with new left arm from something else and a hacked together gun. The new head is a spare one from Eureka Miniatures. The pointy metal jaw is made from putty. The general idea is based on the mega armored orks. He is about the right size although the random disk base could probably be bigger.
