Hi James, Astra Pharos were one of the biggest manufacturers of fireworks in the UK, they were based in Acton, West London, near where I grew up as a boy. I have their catalogue from 1939 and it shows various cannon that they made. I hadn't realized that they fired using black powder but it makes sense given that their main business was fireworks. I think they stopped making the guns in the 1950s. Best wishes, Brian
