ACOTS 2016

Easter 2016 ACOTS ( Australian Collectors Of Toy Soldiers) time. Hosted in Adelaide by Steve and Bob, as usual we had 54mm wargames and the many bargains of the swap-meet.

Forty people arrived for the swap meet at Bob's place and many figures were swapped and several thousand dollars changed hands. I bought so much I had to send some figures home with others as i was travelling by plane with shoulder bag and day pack.

Some of the Stalls.

WW1 French and Brtits vs Germans

On the swap meet game at Bob's place a small wargame was also set up with Bob's figures. The units were of four figures and two officers a side. The officers added to control factors and if the four man base including officer was touching another movement base figures could be moved between bases. Death of the two officers would defeat that army. As it happened the officers mostly survived.

Cover of woods played a big role in the game as there were no trenches My cover was slightly limited but the allies managed to get more men into firing positions and the french under Dave finally charged the Germans in a flanking action where german defensive fire was limited.  In the end the allies, commanded by Dave and I defeated the Germans.
