Third Battle Of The Tarax River: Part 1
After vanishing from the field, in an apparent attempt to lure the smaller Beetsteiner force over the Tarax River the Bogavanian army returned to again attempt a forced crossing. The Bogavanian light cavalry charged over the river to impact the Beersteiner peasants. The peasants used their large numbers to hold up the cavalry to gain time for Beersteiner knights and mercenaries to attack the intruders. The latter hesitated1 Consequently the peasants were driven from the field.
In the meantime Beersteiner crossbowmen wiped out a unit of Bogavanian medium cavalry across the river and a Bogavanian unit of archers decimated the Beersteiner crew of a catapult, before turning attention to the enemy crossbowmen. The latter suffer nearly half their number dead before electing to retreat.
The Beersteiners have been feinforced by mercenary axemen and mounted crusaders from the capital.
Beersteiner allied Mongols take pot shots at mounted knights across the river - to no affect.
