Dwarf Warriors Converted From Resin Fairy Garden Gnomes
I picked up, for $1 each, a couple of Gnomes from the local clearance shop. They looked to be about 1/32 so to the converting bench they did go. It was not too hard to drill out their spades, although one figure lost his hand in the process (later to be replaced with putty). The handless figure received brass rod flattened and sharpened at the end. The other got a double headed DSG axe. Both got DSG shields.
One figure had his cap ground down on the grinding wheel so it is now a helmet.
The figure on the left is a Russian made plastic figure and the one on the right is a metal casting from a made in Macau Dungeons and Dragons figure. The flower was another fairy garden purchase.
Instead of a spear man I have made this one into a flag bearer with addition of Super Glue metal foil, My fellow collector and converter, Larry, makes use of this stuff for belts and straps on his figures.I have been using aluminium can for flags. The Super Glue foil will have crinkles which can simulate folds in cloth.
