Second Battle Of Biden's Wood
The Beersteiners have, under cover of darkness, formed a strong firing line, sufficiently far from the Fezian lines to allow an effective field of fire. Yet the Fezians won the initiative and immediately the whole army charged, with the mounted plate within striking distance next move. (This mounted unit was combined from two greatly diminished units from last battle).
The Beersteiner mounted mercenary archers charged the enemy mounted plate and did as well as could be expected until the remnant archers retreated, But then the enemy mounted late were vulnerable to musketry and retreated.
Beerstein forces are in the foreground.
Mounted archers add their volleys to the musketry and stop dead the enemy lights. The pike get ready to deal with any remnants.
Beerstein forces slowly move forward ad Fezians retreat. The mounted archers move faster and shot down some retreating warriors,
Remnant mounted Fezian plate retreat.
This unit of Beerstein muskets was wiped out although the hero, Javron, survived with one wound.
In the end the Fezian mercenary Hillmen were tasked with holding up my troops pursuit; they managed to cause carnage among my pike men before they were wiped out when the other pikes joined in. Surpringly for mercenaries the Hillmen did not change sides.
One of the Fezian siege cannons was captured by the mounted archers who even saw off the remainder of the Fezian mounted plate.
The Fezians escaped with a handful of troops, their commander and a siege cannon but they then joined forces with a new force of Fezians to outnumber the Beersteiners in the upcoming Third Battle of Biden's Woods! Can Beersteiner fire power again win the day?
