Modern Britains Herald Infantryman And HK Copy.

To the left is the HK copy (probably 1960s or 70s vintage) and to the right is the original. It is clear that the copy has been reduced in size but it has a pleasant basic paint job. I like the shade of the green.

The Herald Modern infantry must be among the most copied figures, both by British manufacturers and Hong Kong or Chinese. Britains took over the Herald company so that herald became Britains-Herald.

What fascinates me is the Bullpup assault rifle. This was based on a design about to be used in the British military but never used! This makes the figures great for imagi-nations!

The other thing is the weapon looks a lot like contemporary Chinese assault rifles! There is a conversion scenario!

Copies of these figures are very common so they are good material for various imagi-nations. I have painted a number of them and will feature them in a future post.
