Strange Napoleonic Shako Figure From A Pirate Set
He is not in a typical Napoleonic figure pose - one thinks of very regimented and stiff rows of marching, shooting etc. This figure came with a set of similarly posed shako and pirate figures. They have that look also typical in many Dulcop figures, kind of bow legged or maybe constipated.
The turn backs were not properly defined so I just painted them on.
The pistol is a little odd looking but as he will be used in a fantasy setting it doesn't matter too much.
He will, most likely see service in my Ozzz Quadling army, maybe as an officer directing a cannon crew.
Hi Q. It is an interesting figure. Would not look out of place for the post-Napoleonic period. I was thinking of 1815-40. The pistol makes me think of dismounted Gendarmerie. It's a very nice casting, well painted, too.

Some of these cheap figures come up surprisingly well once given a detailed paintjob.
DeletePistols are short range weapons - he is just getting closer before firing.
ReplyDeleteA bullet-lunge if you will.
Either that or he is waving it around to impress his subordinates (or to threaten them to not run away).
