Mamelukes And Bashi-bazouks

My latest unit of Mamelukes is nearly complete. I need to add two more figures including flag bearer and trumpeter.

The mamelukes were encountered by Napoleon in Egypt. After defeating them he incorporated Mameluke units in his army. The Italeri mamelukes are based on these French employed ones. There was a particular cut to the uniform and caps but there was a lack of color uniformity.

Bashi-bazouks were irregular cavalry in Turkish service, notably in the 19th century. The earlier mamelukes I converted and painted to look like Bashi-bazouks or regular Turkish cavalry from the 1870s. The Turkish regular cavalry had dark blue zouave looking uniforms with fur hats and Winchester rifles.

My next use of all these figures is as Fezian cavalry in an 18th century-like setting. The use of these figures will be very flexible and cover a few time frames.

The figures with black bases are the latest ones with my own invention of uniform color.

The officer was given a pipe-cleaner plume as the original was missing.
Here's an older unit painted as Napoleonic French unit, except for the flag bearer.
These figures were intended as 1870s Turks.

                                                                    Napoleonic again

I need to texture the bases of the new figures and five them their protective coats.
