A Gift From England.
A Facebook friend sent me a gift of some figures.
First up are some cartoon figures. If anyone knows much about them, I'd like to know what you can tell me about their background.
This is a metal Cat Woman. Super-heroes were never a huge interest of mine, but I did like ones that did not have huge powers but survived with wit and gizmos. For example, Batman was and is a favorite. His nemesis but also occasional love interest, Cat Woman is another. The anti-hero tropes always appeal to me. There is a bit of that in Batman and a lot in Cat Woman. And she shares with the ancient Egyptians a love of cats, one reason I like both.I already had this figure but was thinking of converting the second one into something else. Just what, I haven't decided, but possibly a sorceress.
There are a lot of cheapo cowboys and Indians. These are mostly copies of Airfix, Britains, Lone Star and Crescent. There are also three MPC Apache-looking Indians.
The light blue Indian next to the white Indian is interesting, although damaged. I think it is an old English make, maybe Speedwell.
Some of the Indians will be converted into other things like Mongols or goblins. Most will get added to my big box of spare Indians.
Below are a bunch of Chinese of Hong Kong copies of Jecsan from West Germany.
I decided to paint up a set and also to convert some of them to sailors.
Great gift!
