Saddam Hussein's Fedayeen Painted
The black undercoat got a dry brush, the faces and other details painted and here they are. They were very quick paintjobs, a bit basic really. They probably won't be used in wargames unless I find some other similar distorted helmet figures, although it would not be hard to convert the helmets. Anyhow they are distinctive uniforms. The other option is to make them with black berets so it is doable.
Just to make things more confusing, I have done some more research and the Fedayeen were paramilitary and separate from the Republican Guard.

I seem vaguely to recall having some prone figures of that type. Horrible figures, but, converted to anti-tank riflemen, quite useful.
