Battle For Primordia
The combined Fezian and Bogavanian expedition aimed to eradicate any large threatening 'lizards'. The men were lucky to encounter only plant eaters but these were still potentially dangerous.
Torn between fight and flight the two monsters alternatively grazed, fled and attacked!
Below, the Fezian plate armored troops drive their spears, halberds and swords at the tough hide, eventually causing three wounds on this smaller one. In the background Bogavaian flintlock men move forward.
The larger of the beasts here panics and flees over rocks after a volley of muskets scares it away.
The Fezians had been hampered by the dense vegetation, the heavy rain and the difficulty of crossing the river anywhere but the one shallow crossing.
In the end, one unit had received a number of casualties and the beasts had received wounds. However, te Feziasn and Bogavanians failed to kill the creatures.
Rules were a combination of Warhammer fantasy and Tusk.
CASUALTIES & FOLLOW UP.
As they were facing plant eaters the dinosaurs were just minding their own business, munching on vegetation until the men got too close. The sound of the muskets disconcerted them too, causing them to retreat after initially charging. The smaller brontosaurus lost three wounds (of six) and the big one, one wound. We will have to decide if the wounds or some wounds are restored for a follow up 'battle'. In any case the dinosaurs might retreat out of the hex or/and more unspecified dinosaurs might arrive.
The Fezians sustained nine casualties from their plate armored unit and to no others. Normally, unless there is a retreat, half the casualties would be returned for future battles. In other words (unless we say they were squashed to billyo) the unit returns with a total of 19 men. All other units are intact.

I guess 'battle elephants' wasn't carnivores either, but they must have created terrifyng scenes on the battle field. Great post. Thanks for sharing.
