Space Troopers

Recently I painted four more space troopers to add to my existing unit, making them a dozen.

Below are the ones I had already painted.

They are versatile figures and really, not that far removed from contemporary soldiers. The weapons have a Warhammer 40K look about them. Scale wise they are midgets contrasted to 54mm figures and giants next to Warhammer ones. I would prefer that they were true 1/32. Maybe I should call them Space Hobbits.

I wanted them to look a bit less like contemporary soldiers and so painted them in mainly a grey camo. I could choose any camp scheme, including with bright colors suited to alien planets or I could paint them in ceremonial' uniforms of bright reds. blues, greens and even metallic. (It is worth noting that some contemporary Chinese troops have blue camo).

Previously I also gave some of these fellows dinosaur heads.

  1. These ‘starship’ troopers have painted up really well, James. They look really similar to the film versions.

  2. Very Nice paint scheme James. These figures in that colors kind of give a 'Starship Troopers' vibe to it.

  3. -Second that with their size. That's the only downside with them I think.

  4. I liked the V series versions you did in red. I might make some like that too.
